There are a couple of ways to repair drywall holes. I’ve always used the wood method where wood gets screwed to the drywall on the inside of the hole, then the hole is plugged and mud and tape is applied. This is called the California patch, where you use the paper already attached to the plug and mud is applied to the inside and outside. The final repair turned out pretty good and is super strong. This method is a faster and easier route!
